1. Manhattan Beach was mentioned in the Beach Boys' song "Surfin' USA".
2. Mr. Duncan, a retired colonel from the civil war and Manhattan Beach resident, built a tunnel from his property to the beach in order to smuggle slaves and treasure.
3. The AVP tournament in Manhattan Beach is known as "The Wimbledon of Beach Volleyball." The names of the tournament champions are inscribed in plaques along Manhattan Beach Pier.
4. Many shows and movies were filmed here: The O.C., CSI Miami, Starsky and Hutch and Jerry Maguire.
5. Much of the sand for the beach was purchased by developers from Hawaii in the late 1920s.
6. The name of present day Manhattan Beach was decided by a coin-flip in 1902 between George Peck (who branded his property Manhattan after his hometown in New York).
We could not fully leave behind Manhattan, so we just had to move to a new Manhattan on the west.

Glad you are living in such a cool place! Hope the move was not too painful. We miss you here :)
All I need to know is when can I come and visit?
Are you guys all settled in? Have you had a chance to explore yet? That is my favorite part of moving to a new place, seeing what great anemities are close by. See ya soon, "neighbor"
Sounds wonderful! So glad you guys made it there safe and sound. Enjoy the weather and the space!

I'm so glad you guys are in the same state now. Can't wait to see you guys-- I'm sure baby Michael is already a CA dude.
Hey Laura! Merry Christmas! Just got your Christmas email and had to check out the blog, I love it. We'll have to set Michael and Lucy up in about 21 years :) Keep in touch, I'll send you our blog address once we have one.

So... how is that new "sweet home"?!
Have you seriously not updated your blog since last year? Or did you go undercover and not let me know?! Seems like there is a trend these days of: 1) People leaving NYC and 2) Blogs going private. We might be following the trend soon, with #2, not #1.
Hope you guys are doing well. I think of you whenever we are at the CMOM, since that is the last time we saw you. Be well!! ... and let me know your status. Thanks!
