From the mouth of babes

So Michael has said a few words, at least I think so, I am pretty sure. The "first word" moment is as anti climatic as his first steps. There is never really that one moment; it is a combination of small advances. So I believe his first word was duck. We have one book with a page of ducks on it and every time we get to just that page he starts saying "da, da, da". His next word was "boo" as in peek-a-boo. He started saying this when we were reading a peek-a-boo book. He would lift up the flaps and say "boo". I tried to get it on camera this morning, but he became more interested in the camera than the book. His newest one I think is bye bye. We have been practicing saying bye bye and waving FOREVER. Then yesterday a country song came on the radio with the singer singing "bye bye" and he started waving saying bye bye. So no mama or dada, but duck, boo and bye bye do just fine. I am just glad that his kid got some smarts. We thought he was going to be just a meat-head football player that eats live goldfish to get a few laughs.
