So we have survived our first week in RI. A little bit of weather shock for us (still trying to wear flip flops and shorts around), but all is well. Chad has enjoyed his first week of work. Michael and I have been busy figuring out what neighborhoods we should look into for living. We are trying to decide if we should live in a more urban part of town where there are younger families and you can walk to shops and parks, but live in an apartment with no yard, or live out of the city and have a bigger place with a yard, but not be able to walk to places and be a little more isolated. We are kinda over living in a little apartment, and would love to have more room. But while we are still young and only have 1 kid, we want to live in an entertaining area and not out in the sticks. Any suggestions??
Right now we are staying in corporate housing in Providence. It is working out OK for us. Here is the view from our apartment. We have a beautiful view of the State Capital that is right outside our place. Michaels favorite part of our view is the train station that is also right in front of our place. He bolts for the window whenever he hears a trains whistle blow. But soon after starts throwing a fit because he wants "more".

Yay! I found it... I'm not quite sure what my problem was. I wonder if the page I saved was the entry page for when you first moved... and not the updated ones, duh! Glad to have figured it out. Hope you all are well and are enjoying RI.
Urban setting, all the way. I live in the suburbs and wish I could walk to places and roam with Claire without packing a bag, pinning her down in her car seat and bribing her with treats all the way. Good luck in RI. I am really happy for you.
Welcome back to the right coast. You should make a trip to Cambridge soon, we'd love to see you.
Hey Laurs. Thanks for the comment. It's fun that you're back in the East. We should meet up one of these weekends.
Good luck finding a place. I hear ya on wanting more room. It's a tough choice. I'm not quite sure what I'd do in your situation with a kiddo and all...but I don't doubt you'll make a good decision :)
Glad you guys are liking it. And it's great to have you on the east coast again...I could feel the Donvito presence! The train thing is so cute!
And I tried a straw cup for Curtis...didn't go over so well...he just got frustrated! :)
Oh, and my vote is for urban setting if you can stomach another apartment until #2 comes along and you really need more space!
hey - welcome back to our coast. ironically we are trying to get back west! are you coming up here any time soon? the donigans and wangsguards are having a halloween party on nov 1. maybe you can get yourselves invited!
Urban setting for sure. We are also in the suburbs and I wish we had places to walk to. Congrats on the move!
